American television journalist Don Lemon has been condemned for his opinion on women saying ‘women were only in their ‘prime’ in their ’20s and 30s and maybe 40s.’

Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh made history as the first Asian woman to win Academy Award as the lead actress in the famous movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” During her Award receiving speech, she made a rare comment on CNN host Don Lemon on Sunday night talking about women’s empowerment.

“For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is a beacon of hope and possibilities,”

Michelle said after she received an Oscar

“This is proof that dreams do come true. And ladies, don’t let anybody tell you you’re ever past your prime. Never give up.”

Many celebs who were present on the show on Sunday night gave shocking reactions to her speech and some of them are confused if whether the comment was intended as a criticism of Don Lemon.

The journalist has been broadly condemned for the opinion he had made on the women in February which some people think was sexist. Lemon had made his opinion with the female co-journalist about the former South Carolina governor saying

“Nikki Haley isn’t in her prime, sorry. A woman is considered to be in their prime in her 20s and 30s and maybe 40s,”

Since Michelle make a public comment on the live show about his opinion, people started criticizing him and asking questions about his opinions. USA ambassador Stephanie Hamill asked her over 146,000 followers on Twitter

“Was this a jab at @donlemon for his recent comments about women ‘being past their prime’ after their 40’s?”

Likewise, another tweeted saying

“Michelle Yeoh coming for Don Lemon was not on my #Oscar bingo card,”

The criticism did not stop there, where other media figures and women also stand up in her support

“We are NEVER past our prime. PREACH, Michelle Yeoh!!!!!!!”  telivision host Bianca Gonzalez tweeted

CNN anchor Kristie Lu Stout added

“It has been confirmed. Michelle Yeoh is an unstoppable force,”

“I’m not crying,” TV anchor Susan Li wrote, “you’re crying.”

The other Teams from the popular movie  “Everything Everywhere All at Once” also took home the Oscars including Actress Jamie Lee and actor Ke Huy Quan received Oscars in the category of best-supporting actor/actress.
